Napkin Notes

A sticky note that lives in your notification shade. Free with a small banner; Pro unlocks unlimited AI Polish.

What it does

Napkin Notes keeps a permanent notepad card in your notification shade. Tap the card, type, and close the app: the card shows the first 40 characters of your note so it is always in view. Everything autosaves, pasted text arrives as plain text with the whitespace trimmed, and the card stays put unless you press Stop or swipe it away.

The Polish button checks your note for grammar, spelling and formatting problems using an AI service and replaces the note with the corrected version. The free version includes 3 Polishes per day, each up to 2,000 characters. Napkin Pro unlocks unlimited Polish with no character limit.

Why it exists

Some thoughts cannot wait for you to find a notes app. Napkin Notes puts one tap between you and a note that follows you everywhere on the phone, without accounts or a cloud.

Ads and Pro

The free app shows a small banner ad at the bottom of the note screen, served by Google AdMob. Napkin Pro costs $10 per year, removes the banner, and unlocks unlimited Polish. It is an auto-renewing subscription handled entirely by Google Play: you can cancel any time in Google Play under Payments and subscriptions, cancellation stops the next renewal, and Pro restores automatically if you reinstall on the same Google account. We never see your card details.

Honest notes

Your note text stays on your phone. The only exception is the Polish button: after you agree to a clear notice, the text travels over an encrypted connection to dogatemycomputer.top and then to an AI provider, DeepSeek (servers in China) first and Anthropic's Claude as a fallback when DeepSeek is offline. Dog Ate My Computer does not store your note text, and the free tier limits keep each use short. Full details are in the privacy policy.
Android does not let an app pin its own notification, so the app explains the one-time long press and Pin gesture on first run.
If you force-stop the app from system settings, Android blocks all background starts until you open the app again; no app can work around that.
The app uses the internet only for Polish, the banner ad, the optional Pro subscription, and the Send logs and Feedback buttons you tap in Help. Nothing else is ever sent automatically.

Permissions and why

Each permission exists only to keep the note card alive and visible, to serve the banner ad, and to offer the Pro subscription: notifications permission for the card, a foreground service to keep it alive, boot start so the card returns after a reboot, and a battery optimisation exemption so power saving does not kill it. See the privacy policy for the full list.
